As a young organisation, we’ve made a significant impact in the lives of thousands of people globally through our online educational programs, digital content and live lectures and courses teaching emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing through ancient wisdom and practices including meditation and mindfulness.

We have a vision to create and support over 300 wellness learning-groups in over 20 countries around the world, to allow more people to develop their personal wellbeing and apply timeless spiritual wisdom to help with life’s daily challenges. We’re looking for a Global Learning Groups Co-ordinator to take full ownership of creating an international network of meet-up groups where like-minded people can run our wellbeing courses. We are searching for candidates who have a can-do attitude and a notebook full of creative and innovative propositions. We’re looking for someone who brings energy and enthusiasm to the role.

You will have the chance to shape our business, which will enable us to continue our vital work, reach more people in need of our support and ignite real change.

What you’ll do

As a Global Learning Groups Co-ordinator you will lead on co-ordinating and supporting our volunteers globally to run courses in local or online meetup groups. This will include:

• Strategically expanding a global network of meetup group volunteers by proactively seeking out partnerships with new organisations to host run our group-learing courses.
• Contacting existing self-run Learning Groups to capture Lessons Learned and re-launching them under a new common structured framework
• Ensuring that a volunteer Group Facilitator is assigned to each group and maintaining regular communication on a “first-name terms” basis in order to obtain feedback on courses and ensure that any issues are identified early with appropriate solutions being offered and implemented
• Compiling and expanding a directory of primary contacts for each Learning Group, and actively promoting awareness so that people can readily locate and join a group in their locality
• Strategically identifying gaps where there is unfilled demand from people wishing to either host or join groups in their locality, and ensuring that groups are established as required
• Creating and executing a long term strategy to expand the network to 300 Learning Groups globally
• Devising a strategy to extend courses to other settings such as Sikh Gurdwaras and other religious centres, Yoga studios, Youth Camps and University Societies, and to launch localised versions of courses for Corporates, Prisons, Schools and Public sector organisations such as the Armed forces, Healthcare and Response services
• Taking business ownership of the Nanak Naam online course platform and Facebook Community Group

The skills you’ll need

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in International New Business Development, Volunteer Management, Events Co-ordination or similar discipline. With proven experience of identifying and securing new business opportunities in a commercial or charity setting, you will have met and exceeded financial income targets and will be able to deliver effective pitches, proposals and reports. You will also have strong planning and organisational skills and the ability to work effectively with people at different levels of seniority and from different backgrounds in the public, private and voluntary sectors, with evidence of your ability to influence and secure sustainable results.

Essential skills

• Strong proven background in Sales with ability to identify and create new contacts
• Ability to co-ordinate with volunteers across multiple locations, including overseas
• Excellent communication and social skills with the ability to influence others
• Good project coordination skills
• Strong problem solving skills
• A confident and positive telephone manner.

Highly desirable skills

• Experience in growing a domestic product or service to an international offering
• Fluency in spoken Punjabi
• Previous experience in the non-profit sector
• Experience in online learning and education
• A keen interest in mental wellness through meditation and mindfulness-based practices
