Satpal Singh on Why Young Sikhs Feel Disconnected in Nairobi, Kenya
Satpal Singh travelled to Nairobi, Kenya, for a live Nanak Naam event organised by Ramgarhia Gurdwara Sahib (Pangani) in November 2024. This was Satpal’s first visit to Africa to share Guru Nanak’s teachings.
During the visit, Satpal and his wife, Harmeet Kaur, led two workshops in the lecture halls, one for teenagers and another for adults.
The sessions focused on why many young Sikhs feel disconnected from Sikhi and the challenges of maintaining Sikh practices in the modern world. Together, they discussed practical ways of understanding Guru Nanak’s teachings beyond rules and rituals, helping people build a deeper connection with Sikhi.
