I’m so grateful that Satpal Singh is teaching us the true spiritual meaning of Ik Onkar. It truly is the beautiful Divine thread that runs through us all, it aligns us with all humans no matter what religion we are born into. After studying with different spiritual teachers from around the world, it feels like a jigsaw piece puzzle fits beautifully into place after finding Satpal and this channel. I have faced rough years in my life, filled with trauma causing various mental and physical health issues. Gurbani has helped me reach where I am today. Healing from past experiences and preparing for the future is a difficult journey, but the Nanak Naam podcast has helped me a lot towards my understanding of Gurbani nurturing my inner peace and spirit. I went through the most challenging time of my life that doctor put me on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety pills. I couldn’t get through days and nights. I was struggling to stay alive. Then I came across Nanak Naam through one of the podcasts I listened to regularly. I heard Satpal Ji’s interview and immediately Googled it and watched his videos on YouTube. I started to watch the videos on repeat whole day or while driving or while sleeping. I was always curious since I knew little about what are the real meanings of Gurbani, and his videos not only told me the real meaning of Gurbani but also helped me to tackle my depression, anxiety, fear and insecurities of life. I am immensely grateful to Satpal Ji for his wisdom and for helping thousands to help live life to the fullest with his teachings of real Gurbani.

I discovered Nanak Naam through Instagram and it’s placed a vital role in how I conceptualize Sikhi scriptures in the modern world. The Living with Wisdom course allowed me and my group to attain a deeper level of understanding of the world and find a sense of calm in the chaos. Two key learnings that really had a profound impact on me were contained in the sections titled “Can I stop my negative thoughts?” and “How can I be a better person?” The journey of self discovery is a constant in my life and relating segments of the Guru Granth Sahib on to micro and macro level from my daily day to day problems to real world issues was eye opening. I was going through a lot of depression, anxiety, and even self-harm. I’ve struggled with depression for as long as I can remember. But watching the video on suicide and self-harm touched me in a way I can’t fully explain. It awakened something inside me and showed me that there is more I can do. After that, I explored other videos, including Oneness and Hukam. They moved me deeply because I needed to learn about our scripture from someone who spoke English and explained it so clearly. I wasn’t getting that understanding from anywhere else, and I felt overwhelmed in a good way by the wisdom I was receiving. Even though Nanak Naam is based in the UK, I continued to watch, to learn, and to take in as much as I could. Being here in California, I was later able to attend a retreat. That experience gave me even more knowledge and helped me truly begin my spiritual journey. I came to understand that all the depression, anxiety, self-harm, and loneliness were actually leading me to seek a new path. What I once thought of as the dark night of the soul was not really me, it was guiding me here. I know I still have a long way to go.

As a third-generation Sikh, I had felt disconnected from the tradition and the deep wisdom it carries. The way it is being taught, fearlessly and in such a fresh way, dissolves old concepts and beliefs. Through that, the living voice of the Guru and the essence of the teachings become tangible again through Nanak Naam. This has been so useful for me in how I relate to others and in how I relate to my own thoughts and emotions as we play this game of life. I started watching the Nanak Naam YouTube channel in 2019 and began following on Instagram in 2020. It has now been almost four years, and I feel nothing but gratitude and love for all the work Satpal Ji and the Nanak Naam team are doing in sharing the knowledge of divine truth. I watch Nanak Naam’s YouTube videos everyday before bedtime, it really helps me to wake up each day with fresh thoughts, remembering to spare some minutes for the true Guru, it also helps me to remember how each time I do my simran, how I can focus on the simran, simply by consciously thanking God for everything. I'm deeply grateful to have access to Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s teachings in the way Nanak Naam is teaching us.

I have thoroughly enjoyed listening and absorbing the wisdom shared from the Guru's teachings by Satpal Bhai and Nanak Naam. As someone with Sikh heritage who hasn't been too involved as a young child/teenager, I've ventured on my own spiritual journey and learned the beautiful messages of Oneness, righteousness, courage, honour and compassion among many others within Sikhi, mostly through the Nanak Naam channel which shares all of these profound teachings in an accessible way that's easy to comprehend and not dogmatic. I was born into a Hindu family, but I always felt distant from the rituals and traditions my family and community followed. There was so much emphasis on hierarchy, stereotypes, and divisions that I never truly connected with it in my heart. I always believed I was an atheist. That’s what I told the world. But deep down, I always believed we are all one, it’s only our egos and beliefs that separate us. Last year, before moving to Vancouver for my studies, I somehow came across Sikhi. Interestingly, I had always had Sikh friends, but I never felt the urge to really understand it. I never paid much attention, until one day in July 2022, when I suddenly found myself reciting Gurbani. Since then, I’ve been learning this way of living, reciting Gurbani every day, and listening to your Japji Sahib and Anand Sahib series, which are so good. It’s so beautiful that someone out there is sharing this so sincerely. Thank you for what you do. It has given me purpose in life, encouraged me to do Naam Simran, and helped me find peace. I’m still learning every day, trying to be a little kinder than yesterday. Sometimes I feel Guru Sahib truly chose me for this path. Either way, I just wanted to say thank you.

I first came across Nanak Naam on the internet through a clip from the video Oneness. Since then, I’ve used the videos on Nanak Naam’s page to help me navigate difficult times in my life. Recently, I went through several challenges. My spiritual teacher and mentor transcended this plane and passed on. I was laid off after eight years of service at a company I felt I helped build. I also lost a dear pet to old age and a very good friend in a car accident. With the cost of therapy being so high these days, I began watching more of the Nanak Naam videos until it became a daily practice. Through the Guru’s teachings, I was able to support myself through these hard times and also help those around me. The practice of mantra and awareness that comes with the Guru’s teachings has literally saved my life.
