I was born into a Hindu family, but I always felt distant from the rituals and traditions my family and community followed. There was so much emphasis on hierarchy, stereotypes, and divisions that I never truly connected with it in my heart.
I always believed I was an atheist. That’s what I told the world. But deep down, I always believed we are all one, it’s only our egos and beliefs that separate us.
Last year, before moving to Vancouver for my studies, I somehow came across Sikhi. Interestingly, I had always had Sikh friends, but I never felt the urge to really understand it. I never paid much attention, until one day in July 2022, when I suddenly found myself reciting Gurbani. Since then, I’ve been learning this way of living, reciting Gurbani every day, and listening to your Japji Sahib and Anand Sahib series, which are so good.
It’s so beautiful that someone out there is sharing this so sincerely. Thank you for what you do.
It has given me purpose in life, encouraged me to do Naam Simran, and helped me find peace. I’m still learning every day, trying to be a little kinder than yesterday.
Sometimes I feel Guru Sahib truly chose me for this path. Either way, I just wanted to say thank you.
